Each task carries an estimated difficulty; your answers move an ability estimate up or down, and the test adapts by picking the next task near your current level. The estimate is then mapped onto a 100 ± 15 scale and shown together with a confidence range, because a 20-task test cannot be more precise than roughly ±13 points. Speed does not affect the score. The model is calibrated on this app's own task bank.
There is no question bank inside Matriq. Every matrix, analogy, sequence, odd-one-out and number series is drawn by an algorithm at the moment you see it, from a random seed. That is why the test cannot be memorized or looked up — and why a retest is a genuine new test rather than the same questions again.

On a new device, or after reinstalling: open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase. The purchase is permanent and does not expire.
Use Settings → Report this question (also available from the explanation screen). It opens your mail app with the task type and its seed already filled in — that seed lets us reproduce the exact task and fix the generator. Sending the message as-is is enough.
Yes, entirely — tasks are generated on the device. Attempts, progress and settings are stored only on your iPhone and never leave it; the app has no account and no server. See the privacy policy.
