The short version
PosterTile collects no data. The app works entirely on your device. The only exception is the optional AI posters feature, which — with your explicit consent — sends your text prompt (and a photo, if you attach one) to Google's Gemini API to generate the image. Nothing else ever goes online.
What we do NOT collect
- No personal information, accounts or sign-ups
- No photos ever leave your device — tiling and PDF generation happen locally
- No analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs
- No location, contacts or usage data
Your photos
PosterTile uses Apple's system photo picker, which lets you hand a single image to the app without granting access to your photo library. The selected image is processed on your device only and is never uploaded anywhere.
AI posters (optional)
If you use the AI posters feature, your text description — and your photo, if you choose one — is sent to Google's Gemini API through PosterTile's own relay server, solely to generate your poster. Before the first request the app asks for your explicit permission, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → AI posters.
- No name, email, account or location is attached to the request. A random device identifier is used only to enforce fair-use limits.
- Our relay server does not store your prompts, photos or generated images; they exist there only for the duration of the request.
- Google processes the request under its Gemini API Additional Terms; under the paid API terms, prompts are not used to train Google's models.
- Generated images may carry Google's invisible SynthID watermark identifying them as AI-generated.
- Please do not submit photos of other people without their permission.
Purchases
The optional Pro upgrade is a one-time In-App Purchase processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
